Fairfax County Police - non-emergency
Many non-emergency issues that should be handled by the police can be reported to this number. Officer Robin Jones has visited one of our annual meetings and provided these guidelines about which number to call. Residents are urged to call 911 immediately if you or someone you see is in danger. Non-emergency situations include:
- you see a suspicious person or activity
- noise violations, any time day or night
- public consumption of alcohol in the parking lots, common areas, or streets
- parking violation in the street (not the parking lots)
- expired tags or registration on any vehicles in the parking lots or the streets
- abandoned vehicles
These are just some of the reasons to call. The police prioritize their calls, so it may be 20-30 minutes before they arrive. Please be patient. You do not have to leave your name, but please leave your phone number so that they can contact you if they need to. They will not visit your house when they arrive to help safeguard your anonymity.

Fairfax County Animal Control
If you have a problem with unleashed dogs in your area, please contact Fairfax County Animal Control. Even if they cannot come out the first time you call, they can make a record of your complaint. We have found through experience that the number of complaints can help set their priorities as they are often busy on other calls.
